At Richland Academy, we recognize that the journey to becoming a life-long learner begins with the awareness of, and appreciation for, a child's natural curiosityAs a 21st Century learning community, and the first private Junior Prekindergarten to Grade 8 school in York Region to embrace the Reggio Approach to inquiry learning, our students engage in opportunities to explore, investigate, collaborate and communicate with othersOur nurturing community offers a sense of belonging for our students, staff and families, and differentiates us from othersOur child-centered, experiential and intellectually-stimulating environment fosters life-long learning skills and attitudes, where our students and staff feel connected, capable and counted in our communityWe seek dedicated staff who support the values of excellence, collaboration, and innovation that are part of our school culture.Richland Academy is currently accepting applications for a Registered Early Childhood Educator As a RECE you will plan and implement a full day Early Learning program within a classroom setting This position will also be responsible for before and after school programs This includes providing supervision and age appropriate learning for groups of students as part of the extended day program.You will:- Partner with the classroom teacher and other designated staff to plan and implement the Early Years program through the Reggio-inspired emergent curriculum approach- Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other designated staff to support individual student's identified needs, strengths, interest and stages of development- Observe, monitor and assess the development of children in Early Years and extended day program- Maintain detailed records of assessment, reporting, communication to parents,- Photograph and document student learning- Collaborate with the classroom teacher and special education teacher to carry out specialized activities to support learning for children requiring an IEP- Maintain a healthy, physical, emotional and social learning context for students and others- Collaborate and maintain set-up of classroom (e.gdisplay, organization of materials, etc.)- Attend meetings; appropriate school-level and team meetings and professional development activities- perform related administrative functions as required such as attendance and billing in the extended day program- Complete any duties as assigned by the Head of SchoolSchedules will vary and will range from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Hours of work are determined at the discretion of the Head of School to enable delivery of both core and extended day programs.Work Year: Incumbents may be required to work on Professional Development Days, march Break, and Christmas Break The work year potentially goes beyond the school year.Successful candidates should possess:- Relevant University qualifications, Bachelor of Education- Member of Good Standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators- Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning Kindergarten program- 3-5 years of experience in a childcare or educational setting- Technology proficient, tablets, Smart Boards, etc.- Proven ability to communicate in a professional manner with children, parents, and staff- Proven ability to follow organizational policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner- Strong organizational and time management skills- Current CPR/First Aid/TB/VSC
