We recognize that the journey to becoming a life-long learner begins with the awareness of, and appreciation for, a child's natural curiosity As a 21st Century learning community, and the first private Early Years to Grade 8 School in York Region to embrace the Reggio Approach to inquiry learning, our students engage in opportunities to explore, investigate, collaborate and communicate with others our nurturing community offers a sense of belonging for our students, staff and families, and differentiates us from others Our child-centred, experiential and intellectually-stimulating environment fosters life-long learning skills and attitudes, where our students and staff feel connected, capable and belong in our community.We seek dedicated staff who support the values of excellence, collaboration, and innovation that are part of our school culture Richland Academy is seeking a qualified part-time Health and Physical Education Teacher and Coach You will be confident in curriculum development and demonstrate an approach to teaching that is inclusive to all age levels at Richland You will be required to engage in the work of the school in a collaborative and supportive manner You will establish and coach athletic programs, and bring an awareness of health and wellbeing to the school community The ideal candidate will have:- Relevant University qualifications (e.gBachelor of Education with qualifications in Health and Physical Education)- Certification from the Ontario College of Teachers and be a member in "Good Standing"- a minimum of 3 to 5 years of exemplary teaching experience- Knowledge of subject matter, curriculum planning, assessment practices according to Ministry requirements for teaching at the Elementary/Intermediate level- Knowledge and practice of teaching in an integrative manner- An interest and desire to create an innovative extracurricular experience for Elementary/Intermediate students- Current CPR/First Aid/TB/VSC
