The Ministry of Education Invites Applications For The Following Position(s): Special Education and Resource Service TeachersSecondment OpportunitiesPositions are available for September 2015 The Ministry of Education, Trillium Demonstration School requires Special Education and Resource Service Teachers who wish to have a province-wide impact on the education of students with learning disabilitiesThese positions are available on a secondment basis for teachers who are currently employed by an Ontario School Board Interested teachers who have the approval of their Superintendent are invited to apply Please note: Teachers employed by a school board on a Long Term Occasional basis are not eligible to apply for a secondment. Competition PSB 14-160 As a Special Education Teacher, you will teach students with learning disabilities in elementary school and/or secondary classes junior/intermediate/senior qualifications are required QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers; Special Education qualifications; appropriate division qualifications for position (Junior/Intermediate or Intermediate/Senior); successful experience working with students with severe learning disabilities; excellent working knowledge of student language acquisition/development, program modifications/accommodations, learning strategies, progress monitoring/evaluation, transition planning; specialist in literacy/language development an asset; ability to create and deliver cross-curriculum programming; extensive experience with teaching and learning technologies; ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.Competition PSB 14-161 As a Resource Services Teacher, you will provide support services to local Boards, including: information on language acquisition, program modification, teaching/learning strategies, student progress monitoring/evaluation, behavioural management techniques, integration/application of assistive learning technology; curriculum development/implementation; educational assessment/programming; student transitions/follow-ups; deliver workshops both on-site and off-site; liaise between local boards, community resources and consulting professionals. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers; two or more division qualifications, Special Education and Technology qualification; demonstrated teaching experience in multiple divisions; excellent presentation/report writing/interpersonal/communication skills; expertise in assistive technology as applied to students with learning disabilities; ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team; ability to travel, extensive overnight travel throughout the province may be required.
