If so, the Provincial Schools Branch with the Ministry of Education seeks an enthusiastic individual to administer procurement related functions. What can I expect to do in this role? You will:- develop procurement plans and strategies-provide procurement advice, guidance and recommend options to support senior management decision-making- assist clients to develop business cases, service level requirements and evaluations criteria for approvals- develop and maintain effective relationships with Branch/School management and staff- act as Lead Procurement specialist for the Provincial Schools Branch and its clients- participate in project initiatives.How do I qualify?Technical Knowledge:- You have knowledge of procurement principles, practices, policies, standards and procedures.- You have knowledge of contractual law, trade agreements, fair procurement practices and legislation related to the procurement of goods and services.- You have the ability to develop and implement strategic procurement plans.- You have computer skills including database and word processing software. Analytical and Organizational Skills:- You have excellent analytical, problem solving and interpretive skills to identify procurement opportunities.- You use your organizational skills to keep track of annual procurement needs and plans. Communication, Consultation and Negotiation Skills: - You use sound communication, consultation and negotiation skills to lead strategic procurement advice.- You can negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers.- You can discuss procurement issues with internal and external stakeholders.- You have written communication skills to prepare procurement business cases, correspondence, reports, and briefings.
