JOB POSTING #754468Position:Clinical Research Study AssistantSite:Princess Margaret Cancer CentreDepartment:Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology, Gynecological ResearchReports to:Manager, Cancer Clinical Research UnitSalary Range: Commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN Compensation PolicyHours:35 hours per week;Shifts: WeekdaysStatus: Temporary Full Time (1 year contract)The Cancer Clinical Research Unit has a mandate to lead and promote clinical research within the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Cancer Program through standardization of processes and encouraging a culture of responsibility and accountability in clinical trialsThe Clinical Research Study Assistant will provide assistance with patient screening and clinical trials activities related to the gynecological research team.The Clinical Research Study Assistant collaborates with Investigators, study and the health care team to assume responsibility for screening patients for entry into clinical trialsIt is an exciting position that aims to facilitate and increase recruitment to clinical trials and involves a collaborative and multidisciplinary approachResponsibilities include identification and screening potential subjects, recruitment of study participants, obtaining informed consent, evaluating eligibility of potential study participants, coordination of patient activities in relation to the schedule of events including but not limited to scheduling screening tests and procedures, ensuring they are completed and results obtained, registering and randomization procedures.QUALIFICATIONS• At minimum, Community college diploma in a health-related discipline, or equivalent• 3 to 6 months related experience, preferred research experience in oncology• Knowledgeable and experienced with patient-centered care principles• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, prioritization skills, good computer skills, ability to learn quickly and work independently• Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks with attention to detail• Excellent interpersonal skills• Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards• Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand• Recognized certification in clinical research (ACRP or SOCRA), preferred• Proficiency with MS Office softwarePOSTED DATE: May 7, 2015CLOSING DATE: May 21, 2015Only hospital employees, who have successfully completed their probationary period, have maintained satisfactory attendance in accordance with UHN's attendance management program and possess all the required experience and qualifications should apply.University Health Network thanks all applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.UHN is a respectful, caring, and inclusive workplaceWe are committed to championing accessibility, diversity and equal opportunityRequests for accommodation can be made at any stage of the recruitment process providing the applicant has met the Bona-fide requirements for the open position.Applicants need to make their requirements known when contacted.
