Learning Tree Tutors -- Tutoring Services invites applications for the following positions: English High School English Teacher/Tutor At Learning Tree Tutors we consider that effective tutors must have both excellent teaching and people skillsWe are looking for 1-on-1 English tutors who are passionate about teaching and who can make learning interesting and fun for their studentsWe value good communication skills since teachers must be able to explain complicated concepts in a way that students can understandEnglish tutors are needed for help with English/Language arts, Essay Writing, Literature studies Tutors at Learning Tree Tutors develop flexible, customized programs for each student based on his or her unique needs and goals A customized program will take into account both strengths and weaknesses and will focus on what the individual student needs to reach his or her goalsTutors usually travel to student homes for tutoringHours vary depending on how many students you wish to accept and what assignments are currently available at your locationJoin us under the Learning Tree! We invite qualified tutors to join our expanding team. Qualifications: Certified teachers, teacher college candidates, graduates, and postgraduates Experience in teaching or tutoring Familiarity with current Ontario curriculum guidelines Post-secondary education in English literature or related subjects Reliable transport /personal vehicle preferred Personal Skills: - Open to new ideas and learning strategies - Good communication and interpersonal/rapport building skills - Patient, caring, dependable & flexible Job type: - Part-time, contract - Must be willing to set aside a minimum of 2 evenings a week for tutoring and work 4 - 10 hours a week - Hours are late afternoon, evening & weekends- A criminal background check is required - Able to tutor throughout the school year- Compensation is $25 + based on qualifications and experience.
