POSITION TITLE:ADMISSION COUNSELORJOB CATEGORY:Higher EducationINDUSTRY:Education InstituteLOCATION:TORONTO, ONDATE:January 9, 2014JOB ORDER NUMBER:198702EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have:3-5 years' experience in private Career College Admissions.THE COMPANY:The Admission Counselor advises current and prospective students on educational issues, career planning and personal developmentThe Admission Counselor's primary responsiblility is recruiting to achieve enrollment goals.THE OPPORTUNITY:Counsel prospective students regarding educational issues such as program selection and schedules.Planning, Managing and conducting recruitment and Counseling activities for students.Developing and implementing strategic plans for students recruiting using basicresearch skills.Provides admission presentations to prospective students.Reviews admission applications, Evaluated credentials, and makes admission decisions.Attend to telephone calls from prospective clients, identify their needs, and arrange appointment for a personal discussion.Assist potential and registered students in making personal, career and academic program choices.On Occasion may have to respond to the need of counseling outside of the regularly scheduled working hours.Being aware of issues in college admission, testing and keeping up-to-date about specific colleges in the market.Monitor, create a report about student funded Centers and provide the information to the college administrator.Advise students of admission requirements and financial aid.Provides follow-up to students via phone, letters or email.Any other duties related to the counseling job requested by the college administrator.Prepare admission package and documents related to SC, SA, WSIB funding recipients.Provide advice and information on career options and educational opportunities; collect andmaintain current information on such educational opportunities ad labor market trends in the region.Provide information about the various programs offered, to potential applicants and help them identify the right program.Advised students on course selection, prerequisites, registration procedures, financial aid options and related matters.Process applications and admissions, evaluate applicants' prior education and make decision on whether the student needs additional testing.Assist in student recruitment, retention and support activities such as open house information sessions and social events, develop and distribute newsletters and other informational materials.Coordinate, establish, and maintain relationship with law firms, community centers, and other private agencies that are potential sources for local and international students.COMPENSATION:Commensurate with experience.EDUCATION:Diploma or Degree in relative Education.EMPLOYMENT TYPE:FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE, PERMANENTREQUIRED TRAVEL:NORELOCATION ASSISTANCE:NOMANAGES OTHERS:NOCONTACT:Waqas Chaudry, Talent Acquisition ConsultantHOW TO APPLY:Please click on the “APPLY” button located elsewhere on this job posting (preferred) or email your resume to: wchaudry@stoakley.com
