/Sheridan welcomes diversity in the workplace and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including visible minorities, Aboriginal People, and persons with disabilitiesTo request any accommodations you may require to participate in the recruitment process (including alternate formats of materials or accessible meeting rooms) contact/ /accessibility@sheridancollege.ca// to discuss your needs./ Note: Credentials obtained outside of Canada require an evaluation to determine the Canadian educational equivalenceThis evaluation must support the educational requirements for the position as a condition of employmentFor further information, visit: World Education Services Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our faculty teamThe successful candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science and information systems security, and will be able to teach courses in these areas at all levels of studyCandidates must be able to teach courses in Ethical Hacking and Malware Analysis, C and Assembler programmingKnowledge of, and ability to teach, Computer Systems Architecture, Operating Systems Design, Cryptology, Secure Software Development, or Digital Forensics is a definite assetThe successful candidate will be teaching in multiple programs in the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology, and will also contribute to program and curriculum developmentWith the increased focus on undergraduate research delivered within curriculum, candidates will also have the opportunity to participate in leadership roles, in this emerging areaResponsibilities: Sheridan faculty provide academic leadership to programs and courses within their areas of expertise and contribute to the creation of a learning-centred environment where students can develop to their full potentialThey also contribute to College, Faculty, and program excellence by collaborating on a variety of initiatives such as new program development, applied research and alternative delivery strategiesProfessors are responsible for: Ensuring that program and course curricula are current, relevant and reflective of best practices within the relevant professional/program disciplines; Defining, evaluating and validating learning outcomes for courses and programs; Creating an effective environment for applied learning which accommodates students diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles; Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning that are invitational and reflective of best practices in teaching and learning; Developing appropriate strategies and tools to assess student performance that are consistent with the learning outcomes of the course and address multiple learning styles; Developing multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporating appropriate educational technologies into the applied learning processProfessors also ensure that students are aware of course and program learning outcomes, learning strategies and evaluation techniques; provide individual tutoring and academic counselling; and evaluate student progress/achievement within assigned coursesQualifications: Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or in a related field of study (PhD preferred); A minimum of three years relevant professional experience; CISSP designation considered an asset; Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in business or industry preferred; In depth knowledge of Ethical Hacking and Malware Analysis, C or Assembler programming; Formal studies in adult or higher education an asset; Strong network of contacts with other professionals, organizations and employers; Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; Demonstrable ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students; Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a team environmentAppointment Details: Employee Group: Academic Faculty: Applied Science and Technology Reference #: 14/F/34.1 Campus: /May be assigned activity at any Sheridan campus/ Salary Range: $59,653 - $103,412 /(based on relevant //educational qualifications and experience)/ Application Deadline: Open until filled Hire Date: Summer 2015 To apply online, visit: http://ift.tt/1br3eFT
