: Sheridan welcomes diversity in the workplace and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including visible minorities, Aboriginal People, and persons with disabilitiesTo request any accommodations you may require to participate in the recruitment process (including alternate formats of materials or accessible meeting rooms) contact accessibility@sheridancollege.ca to discuss your needs.Note: Credentials obtained outside of Canada require an evaluation to determine the Canadian educational equivalenceThis evaluation must support the educational requirements for the position as a condition of employmentFor further information, visit:World Education Services Reporting to the Manager, Library User Services, the Liaison Librarian’s major responsibility involves developing and implementing instruction on information literacy and e-learning initiatives for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as providing communications with, and support for, Library Services users to achieve institutional learning goalsThe position also provides reference help and contributes to the development of related services in all disciplinesResponsibilities:Cultivating partnerships with faculty and staff across all campuses;Working collaboratively with college faculty and library colleagues to integrate information literacy and research skills across the curriculum;Teaching library research instruction sessions at all campuses primarily in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences programs;Working collaboratively with the User Education Coordinator and other members of the User Education team to create discipline-specific modules;Working with the User Education team in developing library publications to promote and instruct on the library and its resources; Participating in development of information literacy and e-learning policies as a member of the Liaisons team;Contributing information and advice about users’ needs towards ongoing planning and development, in order to provide leading edge library service;Providing general reference services in all disciplines individually and at the service desks, as well as specialized reference/research services;When required, providing input in the selection of new reference/electronic resources based on analysis, need and suitability;Monitoring and evaluating web sites and research sources;Serve as resource for First Year team;Staying abreast of relevant library technologies, including social networking technology and helping to develop marketing, outreach and reference services through the use of these technologies;Actively participating in Library’s Social Media committee;Providing research and subject specialty guidance to all full and part-time support staff in the Trafalgar campus library;Required to work evening shifts as necessary;Other duties as necessary.Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Studies from an American Library Association accredited institutionMinimum of one-year experience as a Librarian or equivalent two years’ experience in providing Library reference service or instruction is requiredA university degree from within the disciplines of Arts or Humanities would be an assetCandidates with demonstrated current knowledge of information technologies and their application within libraries, working knowledge of trends and issues in academic libraries and higher education will be preferred.Strong oral and written communication, creative thinking, problem-solving, analytical skills will be requiredKnowledge of ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards and demonstrated effectiveness as an instructor/class presenter is requiredOther requirements include the ability to multi-task a variety of responsibilities and projects in addition to adaptability within a variety of professional contexts, while working in a customer service, team oriented environmentTravel between campuses will be required.Appointment Details:Employee Group: AcademicFaculty: Library and Learning ServicesReference #: 15/F/34Campus: Davis(May be assigned activity at any campus)Salary Range: $59,653 - $103,412 (based on relevanteducational qualifications and experience)Application Deadline:Open-until-filled.Application Details:Please note initial screening will take place as of March 11,2015.Start Date:August 1, 2015
