Providing strategic direction for the Digital Learning, Teaching and Learning, Program Development and Program Review portfolios; Actively participates in developing Sheridans academic strategic plan and policies; Ensuring the development of a strong identity, positive reputation and clear sense of mandate and direction within the department and across Sheridan; Fostering the development of a departmental culture of collegial teamwork and a working environment that promotes and respects diversity; Ensuring the smooth & positive functioning within CTL and with Faculties by identifying, mediating & resolving issues in a professional and timely manner; Contributing to the development of cross-college policies in collaboration with academic Faculties and corporate services to meet the needs of all stakeholders; Liaising with industry, educational institutions and government to enhance the reputation of Sheridan and CTL in local, provincial, national and international arenas; Providing leadership in creating and sustaining an organizational culture that enhances learning and growth; Developing medium and long range goals and plans to ensure the academic well- being and growth of CTL programs and services; Promoting effective HR planning and maintains a high level of department performance by hiring, developing, mentoring, engaging and evaluating staff to create a strong and successful department; Leading strategic development and management of budgets and effective an efficient allocation of fiscal and physical resources to services Ensuring Ministerial standards and regulations (MTCU, PEQAB, CVS), Sheridan regulations and policies as well as external accreditation and licensing rules and requirements are adhered to in new program development, curriculum revisions and program review; and is a consulting resource to other Faculties as such; Leading and advancing a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning program and is actively engaged, as a subject matter expert, in integrating teaching, learning and research across the institution; Providing strategic guidance to the Digital Learning portfolio to ensure strategies are in place to support the Faculties in the acquisition and use of technology to support and enhance teaching and learning including traditional and alternative delivery strategies Other duties as assignedQualifications: The successful candidate must possess an advanced degree in a related field (Masters required, Ph.Dpreferred) along with at least 9 years of work-related experienceThe successful candidate will have a successful track record of innovative leadership in a postsecondary settingHe/she must have demonstrated expertise in higher education as well as a sound understanding of the nature and levels of postsecondary education and the academic needs of studentsHe/she must have demonstrated success in collaborative leadership, strategic and operational planning and innovationThe ideal candidate must have experience in change leadership; organizational assessment and capacity building as well as strong interpersonal skills; excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills; and the ability to develop collaborative work processesProficiency with current information and educational technology is necessaryThe successful candidate will have a strong understanding of cultural diversity and needs of special populationsTeaching experience at the postsecondary level would be an assetAppointment Details: Employee Group: Administrative Faculty/Department: Centre for Teaching and Learning Campus:Trafalgar /(May be assigned activity at any Sheridan campus)/ Reference #: 14/A/64 Payband: NP Hiring Range: $140,378.11- $149,151.74 Salary Range: $140,378.11- $175,472.64 Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
