Learning Tree Tutors -- Tutoring Services invites applications for the following positions: English ESL Tutors Tutors at Learning Tree Tutors develop flexible, customized programs for each student based on his or her unique needs and goals A customized program will take into account both strengths and weaknesses and will focus on what the individual student needs to reach his or her goalsTutors usually travel to student homes for tutoringHours vary depending on how many students you wish to accept and what assignments are currently available at your locationJoin us under the Learning Tree! We invite qualified tutors to join our expanding team. Qualifications for English/ESL Tutors: University degree and TESL certification/ OR OCT plus ESL training Experience teaching/tutoring adults or children Experience teaching IELTS/TOEFL/or Business English is an asset Clear speech or good speaking voice and Canadian accent desirable Background/knowledge of linguistics and pronunciation is desirable Reliable transport /personal vehicle preferredPersonal Skills: - Open to new ideas and learning strategies - Good communication and interpersonal/rapport building skills - Patient, caring, dependable & flexible Job type: - Part-time, contract - Hours are mostly late afternoons, evenings & weekends- A criminal background check may be required - Able to tutor for a minimum of 2 evenings a week /4 hours a week - Compensation is $22 to $25 per hour
