The Ministry of Education Invites Applications For The Following Position(s): Teacher of the DeafBlind1.0 Replacement Position - available immediately(Contract rated under the Provincial Schools Authority) A rewarding opportunity awaits you with the Ministry of Education, Provincial Schools Authority at the WRoss Macdonald School for the Blind Dedicated to providing quality education to blind, deafblind, and visually impaired students in the province, we are currently looking for innovative educators to fill the following positions:➢ Competition #PSB14-153 Teacher Deafblind - 1.0 replacement position available November 2014 to August 31, 2015 You will: Provide individual/group programs of instruction for deafblind children Develop Individual Education Plans including curriculum expectations and assessment Provide regular communication to parents regarding school and classroom activities; Participate in professional development activities QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Certificate of Registration and Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers Teaching Students Who Are Deafblind, Specialist qualifications, or willingness to obtain (minimum Teaching Students Who Are Deafblind Part 1) ABILITY: Ability and demonstrated experience teaching students who are deafblind; Ability to apply an in-depth knowledge of the principles of teaching students who are deafblind; Ability to apply curriculum adaptations, methods and materials to assist deafblind students; including ability to develop/modify lesson plans to successfully teach students who are deafblind; Ability to effectively manage a classroom and students using a variety of behavioural management techniques; Ability to write and present education materials and lesson plans using excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to communicate with deafblind students; Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
