Richland Academy is currently accepting applications for teachers who are dedicated, hard-working, creative, innovative and who strive for excellence in a Reggio- inspired/inquiry, 21st Century School, in the following job placement opportunity:Part-time Physical Education Teacher and Coach The successful candidate for our Physical Education Teacher and Coach Position will operate in the classroom as a co-learner with their students, guiding the children in exploring and investigating, while leading them to a deeper understanding of the dynamic curricular content They will establish and coach athletic programs, and bring an awareness of athletics, health and wellbeing to the school community By way of games and challenges, the successful candidate will promote physical activity, gross motor skills, fitness, wellbeing and healthy eating among the students The candidate will be required to work in a culture of learners and researchers in an inquiry environmentThe ideal candidate will have:- Relevant University qualifications - Certification from the Ontario College of Teachers and be a member in "Good Standing"- Membership with the Coaches Association of Ontario- 3 years of exemplary coaching/teaching experience- Knowledge of subject matter, curriculum planning, assessment practices according to Ministry requirements for teaching at the Junior and Intermediate level - Knowledge of teaching in an integrative manner - Proven ability to communicate in a professional manner with children, parents, staff and the general public- Excellent communicator demonstrating desire and willingness to dialogue with all levels of faculty and administration to develop a shared vision and mission- Proven ability to follow organizational policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner- Strong organization and time management skills- Technological acumen and experience utilizing hardware essentials( Smart boards, Epson, laptop, tablets and handheld devices), software essentials in a classroom environment, and social media- An interest and desire in creating or being a part of an innovative co-curricular experience for all students- Current CPR/First Aid/TB/Vulnerable Sector Screening
