Richland Academy is currently accepting applications for teachers who are dedicated, hard-working, creative, innovative and who strive for excellence in a Reggio- inspired/inquiry, 21st Century School, in the following job placement opportunity:The successful candidate for our Grade 7 position will operate in the classroom as a co-learner and researcher with their students, guiding the children in exploring and investigating, while leading them to a deeper understanding of the dynamic curricular content They will collaboratively design, implement, and document curricula and assessments and engage in co-curricular activities, such as athletics, arts and academics The 2015-2016 year will mark the opening of a new Middle School Program at Richland Academy The Grade 7 teaching role requires an innovative educational professional to teach and learn in a collaborative, inquiry-based, fast-paced learning environment, using technology as the foundation of the Grade 7 program The candidate will be required to work in a culture of learners and researchers in an inquiry environment.The ideal candidate will have:- Certification from the Ontario College of Teachers and be a member in "Good Standing"- Relevant University qualifications (e.gBachelor of Education with a designation in Math or Science)- working knowledge of a Reggio-inspired environment- 3-5 years of exemplary teaching experience- Knowledge and practice of subject matter, curriculum planning, and assessment practices, according to Ministry requirements for teaching at the Primary/Junior level- Knowledge of and practice in inquiry based learning- Knowledge of and practice in teaching in an integrative manner using the facets of STEAM to learn and teach in such an environment Proven ability to communicate in a professional manner with children, parents, staff and the general public- Proven ability to communicate in a professional manner with children, parents, staff and the general public- Excellent communicator demonstrating desire and willingness to dialogue with all levels of faculty and administration to develop a shared vision and mission- Proven ability to follow organizational policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner- Strong organization and time management skills- An interest and desire in creating or being a part of an innovative co-curricular experience for Middle School students- Ability to work in a collaborative environment where teachers demonstrate the principles of inquiry-based decision-making with other teachers, staff at all levels, and with the school Head and Assistant- Technological acumen and experience utilizing hardware essentials( Smart boards, Epson, laptop, tablets and handheld devices), software essentials in a classroom environment, and social media- Current CPR/First Aid/TB/Vulnerable Sector Screening
