develop specific marketing strategies and tactics that will ultimately persuade students to apply for admission and to register at Queens Determine itinerary and events to promote Queens, build relationships, and define measurement criteria for evaluating marketing plan and its execution, evaluate effectiveness in terms of meeting objectives, and propose and incorporate changes for the future Prepare specific targeted communications and presentations consistent with Queens and the Division of Student Affairs overall communication strategy Execute planned activities to help ensure a well-qualified applicant pool for undergraduate programs at QueensAdvise students, schools, and guidance counsellors regarding admission qualifications, program details, financial assistance, and be the primary liaison for information and support Evaluate applications for admission and make admission decisions and recommendations based on policies in consultation with the Admission Manager and the Faculties and Schools Strategically develop and foster relationships both internal and external to the University, including students and alumni, with the goal of recruiting students with and through othersLiaise with regional Alumni Student Recruitment Network(s) to advance admission and enrolment objectives Actively report back to stakeholders at the University regarding the student market and school curricula to ensure all are kept informed as part of a feedback loop Propose changes to admission policies and practices as necessary to help ensure fairness and access, and ensure that they do not present barriers in attracting students to register at the UniversityProvide feedback from student input and observations Prepare statistical reports and interpretation of the results for the assigned region or set of activities, for reporting, accountability and planningREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A University degree (Queens preferred) Experience researching, developing and implementing targeted plans Experience presenting information with the goal of influencing people Experience promoting and executing special events Satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening required Valid Province of Ontario Class G drivers license required Experience with Queens University and the programs offered a strong asset Marketing or public relations background or previous admission experience an asset Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Ability to travel for extended periods of time nationally and/or internationally Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills Must be creative and able to develop and incorporate new ideas and innovative approaches to meet objectives Excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills as well as strong intercultural awareness Computer expertise (Microsoft Office) and the ability to adapt to changing technology Experience working in a student information system (PeopleSoft preferred) DECISION MAKING: Prioritize own work to meet objectives and deadlines Determine how new information or changes will affect policies and procedures or planned outcomes and recommend appropriate changes Determine how to respond to challenging questions from university officials, secondary school officials, potential students and parents, alumni and other stakeholders Evaluate admission applications and make admission decisions Decide when to refer issues RESEARCH ASSESSMENT QUESTIONS: 1Is this position technical in nature in a teaching or research lab or lab-related area?
