Learning Tree Tutors -- Tutoring Services invites applications for the following positions: English Academic Teacher/Tutor At Learning Tree Tutors we consider that effective tutors must have both excellent teaching and people skillsWe are looking for 1-on-1 English tutors who are passionate about teaching and who can make learning interesting and fun for their studentsTutors at Learning Tree Tutors develop flexible, customized programs for each student based on his or her unique needs and goals A customized program will take into account both strengths and weaknesses and will focus on what the individual student needs to reach his or her goals.Tutors usually travel to student homes for tutoringHours vary depending on how many students you wish to accept and what assignments are currently available at your location that will fit your scheduleLessons for senior students are 1.5 to 2 hours. Qualifications : Certified teachers, teacher college candidates, graduates, and postgraduates Post-secondary education in English literature or related subjects Experience in teaching or tutoring and familiarity with current Ontario curriculum guidelines Reliable transport /personal vehicle preferredPersonal Skills: - Open to new ideas and learning strategies - Good communication and interpersonal/rapport building skills - Patient, caring, dependable & flexible Job type: - Part-time, contract - Must be willing to set aside a minimum of 2 sessions /4 hours a week - Hours are late afternoon, evening & weekends- A criminal background check is required - Able to tutor throughout the school year- Compensation is $25 + based on qualifications and experiences.
