In this role you will: Work with learning disabled students, Work in a multi-disciplinary setting, Assist in providing individual and group programs to learning disabled children, Assist in program preparation and materials LOCATION: 347 Ontario Street South, Milton, Ontario QUALIFICATIONS: Your background and experience enables you to meet the following requirements: Community College certificate and/or equivalent training, education and working experience in a child-related field, Demonstrated experience working with students who have learning disabilities and may have motivation and self-esteem needs and show discouragement toward school work, Knowledge of child/adolescent development and an understanding of caring with children and teenagers with special needs, Willingness to assist students who have learning disabilities, Excellent communications skills to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and other professionals, Knowledge of relevant legislation /policies /procedures /guidelines/practices that address student care and safety, Excellent analytical, problem solving and observation skills to identify students' needs/difficulties, Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, Working knowledge of computers and electronics and adaptive computer technology and software, Current certification in CPR and First Aid AREA OF SEARCH: OPEN*Indicates the salary as per the OPSEU Collective Agreement
