EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY-First Nation Student Success Education Coordinator-Program: First Nation Student Success (FNSS)Location: Kenora OfficeSUMMARY:The First Nation Student Success Education Coordinator is responsible for the overall co-ordination, supervision and delivery of the Bimose Tribal Council First Nation Student Success Program initiative.The First Nation Student Success Education Coordinator as identified in the project proposal is the Education Project Leader of the Bimose Tribal Council First Nation Student Success (FNSS) ProgramThe leader's immediate supervisor is the Director of Education of the tribal council and works with project's Anishinaabe Student Achievement Committee comprised of members representing Bimose Tribal Council First Nations participating in the projectShe or he is responsible for the duties listed below.SUPERVISION DUTIES:a) Coordinate all components of the FNSS program.b) Coordinate all components of other programs applied for under this FNSS program.SPECIFIC DUTIES:a) Maintain the program budget.b) Actively involvement with the program, its personnel, and participating schools.c) Assisting with the initiating of a network with provincial school boards and other First Nation schools/organizations in order to actively pursue student improvement in all of the areas covered by the FNSS program.d) Collect all of the required data and indicators.e) Organize and/or deliver professional development to all schools.f) Complete all reports and proposals.g) Liaison with AANDC and other funding agencies.h) Attend meetings, workshops and conferences, as required to gather new knowledge and information that would assist the program.i) Hiring and supervision of all FNSS staff.j) Conduct research and compile program data, interpret and present the finding to the ASA Committee.k) Other duties as assigned by the ASA Committee and/or the Director of Education.QUALIFICATIONS:1) Bachelor of Arts/Science and Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor of Education.2) Master of Education and Principal's Qualifications would be an asset.3) Member in Good Standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.4) Excellent management skills are required.5) Through knowledge of the Ontario provincial education system.6) Experience in the education of Anishinaabe students.7) Valid driver's license.A cover letter and a resume listing three professional references must be submitted by Thursday, November 27, 2014 at 4:30 p.mCST.PLEASE SUBMIT APPLICATION BY MAIL, E-MAIL, IN PERSON, OR FAX TO:HIRING COMMITTEEC/o Bimose Tribal Council Inc.598 Lakeview DriveKenora, ONP9N 3P7Telephone: (807) 468-5551 „H Fax: (807) 468-3908 „H E-mail: reception@bimose.caFor clarification and further details, contact Andy Graham at (807) 468-5551 Ex242.Only those selected for an interview will be contacted shortly after the deadline date.
