The Ministry of Education Invites Applications For The Following Position(s): Special Education Teachers (Elementary and Secondary)Secondment Opportunity - available September 2015 A rewarding opportunity awaits you with the Ministry of Education, Sagonaska Demonstration School in Belleville for students with learning disabilities Our school is dedicated to providing quality education for students with learning disabilities in a residential setting Currently we are looking for Special Education Teachers who wish to have a province wide impact on the education of students with learning disabilitiesThis position is available on a one (1) year renewable secondment basis for teachers who are currently employed by an Ontario School Board Interested teachers who have the approval of their Superintendent are invited to apply Please note: Teachers employed by a school board on a Long Term Occasional basis are not eligible to apply for a secondment.Competition PSB15-035 - Special Education Teachers positions available for elementary homeroom, and multi-disciplinary secondary teachers (English, history, science and other courses as assigned) strong literacy skills, experience Junior/intermediate and/or Intermediate/Senior qualifications are required QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers; Special Education qualifications (Part 1 minimum); strong literacy skills; appropriate division qualifications for position required; successful experience working with students with learning disabilities; excellent working knowledge of student language acquisition/development, program modifications/accommodations, learning strategies, progress monitoring/evaluation; demonstrated excellence in literacy/language development; experience teaching children to learn to read; demonstrated experience with integration/application of inclusive/assistive technology; demonstrates openness, innovation and awareness of educational research related to students with learning disabilities; ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, ability to work in partnership with the residence staff; excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required AREA OF SEARCH: OPEN
