Employment Type: Regular Responsible for obtaining new investment management accounts directly, through centres of influence or HSBC Bank Canada referral sourcesImpact on the Business Obtain new private client investment management accounts directly, through centres of influence or internal referrals through HSBC Bank CanadaDetermine the investment objectives and risk tolerance of each clientDevelop an Investment Policy Statement for each client, to outline the client's objectives, our mandate and any investment restrictionsEnsure that the Portfolio Manager has incorporated client's objectives in the portfolio and review client reports for adherence to client restrictionsMeets regularly with clients to review portfolio, investment returns, strategies taken and our investment outlookUnderstand and ensuring compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business Participate in committees as requested or requiredCustomers / Stakeholders Maintain strong relationships with branches, PCG and Premier, Commercial Banking, to foster business development Foster outside business contacts such as lawyers and accountants for business developmentLeadership & Teamwork Provide leadership to Client Relationship Manager, and Portfolio AdministratorsFoster team spirit within PIM and with other business unitsPromote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brandOperational Effectiveness & Control Continually re-assess the operational risk inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practicesEnsure that all employees are aware of and effectively identify and manage applicable money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF), sanctions and reputational risksComplete other responsibilities, as assignedManagement of Risk Ensure compliance of both general and anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing (AML/ATF) compliance controls as well as operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issuesPromote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brandObservation of Internal Controls Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
