Learning Tree Tutors -- Tutoring Services invites applications for the following positions: English ESL Tutors Tutors at Learning Tree Tutors develop flexible, customized programs for children and adults each student based on his or her unique needs and goalsTutors usually travel to homes, offices or libraries for tutoringHours vary depending on how many students you wish to accept and what assignments are currently available at your locationTeachers/tutors are urgently needed for these specialized assignments:(1) Teachers to help advanced students improve pronunciation/intonationAnd reduce foreign accent;(2) Teachers to help people looking to improve their English for business and/or need tutoring to pass English competency tests. Qualifications for English/ESL Tutors: University degree and TESL Canada or certification or equivalent/OR OCT certification and ESL training Experience teaching/tutoring adults and/or children Clear speech/good speaking voice and standard Canadian accent Background/knowledge of linguistics and pronunciation desirable Experience teaching CELPIP/IELTS/TOEFL/or Business English is an asset Reliable transport /personal vehicle preferredPersonal Skills: - Open to new ideas and learning strategies - Good communication and interpersonal/rapport building skills - Patient, caring, dependable & flexible Job type: - Part-time, contract - Hours are mostly late afternoons, evenings & weekends- A criminal background check may be required - Able to tutor for a minimum of 2 evenings a week /4 hours a week - Compensation is $22+ per hour
