The Ministry of Education Invites Applications For The Following Position(s): Educational Co-ordinator (K-12)WRoss Macdonald School for the BlindThree (3) year Term Appointment(Contracts rated under the Provincial Schools Authority)Position available September 1, 2015 to August 31, 2018 The Provincial Schools Authority, WRoss Macdonald School for the Blind, Brantford, Ontario, has an exciting opportunity available for an Educational Co-ordinator The Educational Co-ordinator is a position of added responsibility whereby the teacher is appointed to assist in the improvement of instruction and the development of curriculum in specified areas or units of a school program The duties of an Educational Co-ordinator and the qualifications to hold the position are defined in Regulation 298 s14, 17, and 18 The Educational Co-ordinator must understand effective teaching techniques and how to design a curriculum (including IEP expectations) or series of courses on a particular topic with Ministry requirements in mind and whether it can be effective Qualifications: Valid Certificate of Registration and Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers; Teaching Students Who Are Blind, Specialist qualifications; Three (3) divisional qualifications required; In-depth knowledge of education of blind/low vision students; In-depth knowledge of Ministry, Provincial and school policies and procedures; Knowledge of Ontario Education Curriculum Reform including initiatives at the elementary and secondary level, IEP and report card processes.Ability: Ability/experience to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team; Demonstrated project management skills; Demonstrated presentation and effective communication skills are essential; Ability to facilitate case conferences and presentations for staff development.
