providing creative solutions to meet departmental training needs and educating individuals not familiar with the academic systems;Providing input and direction on the life cycle needs for academic systems review, revitalization and change;Developing on-line training and providing advice/recommendations on system capabilities;Planning, implementing and assessing the impact of upgrades and service packs, in consultation with the Faculties and the Director;Playing a leadership role in the development of the Academic Systems Operations business plan by working with the Director to consolidate academic system plans which includes; determining administrative, financial, human resources, information management, information technology and process strategies to respond to ongoing business needs and new systems;Accountable for project initiation and planning activities, ensuring successful execution, managing risk/issues/change, reporting on progress/milestones, financials etc.;Providing leadership and direction to the team to ensure proper coverage, prompt response to user queries and problems, escalation of problems to the vendor and tracking of vendor cases;Setting service standards for the work of the area and associated staff as required; conducting staff meetings to set goals and monitoring progress of various projects and pilotsEnsuring that collaborative cross training occurs;Developing, monitoring and administering department and project budgets within allocated resources;Serving on a variety of internal and external Sheridan committees offering knowledge and support to ensure currency with issues and best practices to resolve them;Leading/participating on other projects or activities as required.Qualifications:The successful candidate must possess a 4 year BachelorĂ¢s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field (or 3 year diploma/degree + postgraduate diploma), along with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience)The incumbent will possess in-depth experience with new system design and deployment, process design, system development, testing and implementation, and have developed relevant documentation and training curriculum for systemsFormal project management training or PMP is preferredThe incumbent must possess sound management and demonstrated leadership experience, including experience managing systems projects of large scope and impactIn addition, a high-level of analytical, creative problem solving, and project management skills is requiredExperience with Sheridan systems and managing staff in a unionized environment would be considered an assetThe incumbent should display a high level of professionalism and discretion, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work at a strategic levelIn addition, the candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Appointment Details:Employee Group: AdministrativeFaculty/Department: Office of thr Provost and Vice President, AcademicCampus: Trafalgar(May be assigned activity at any Sheridan campus)Reference #: 15/A/13Payband: NMHiring Range: $86,858 - $92,287Salary Range: $86,858 - $108,573Application Deadline: February 23, 2015
