The Study Academy, an independent day school for Gifted/LD students, is seeking a talented, and experienced teacher to teach enriched math, science and computer studies (espprogramming) for a few of our highly gifted high school high school studentsLocated in midtown Toronto, The Study Academy, with a prescriptive teaching model and by employing a team of specialized teachers, provides a series of specific accommodations to the teaching, classroom and assessment domains of school These accommodations include small class size, direct instruction, support with structuring ideas and analysis, neurofeedback training for attention and executive function skill development (including study skills, time management and goal setting) The unique learning environment created by the accommodations affords the opportunity to enrich and surpass academic milestones and curriculum expectations.The successful candidate will have experience working with bright, creative children who have challenges in their learning profile particularly disabilities in the non-verbal domain and anxiety Working as part of a teaching team in a one:five teaching ratio, there are wonderful opportunities for teachers to have an transformative impact on their students The position starts February, 2015 Please contact Director Bryan Levy-Young bryan@thestudyacademy.ca416 929 1630
