Under general supervision of the Chair, Education Vice Deans and the Administrative & Projects Manager, the Education and Teaching Awards Coordinator will be responsible for providing assistance in the promotion of education scholarship for the Education Vice-DeansThe incumbent will be responsible for acting as the main resource and representative for advancing faculty teaching and education awards within the Faculty of MedicineS/he will be responsible for the management of decanal level education and teaching awards, supporting the Education and Teaching Awards Committee, reporting on awards, winners and nominees and will be the main point of contact for Deans, Chairs and key hospital stakeholders for teaching and education awardsThe incumbent will be writing Decanal nomination packages for local, national and international education and teaching awards by synthesizing information from many sources including; nominees, nominators and others and assist in preparing nomination files for various prestigious awardsIn addition, the Education & Teaching Awards Coordinator will coordinate and provide administrative organization for Faculty Achievement celebratory events; specifically the Education Achievement CelebrationThe incumbent will coordinate activities, meetings and communication within the Education Deans portfolioThis position will require the incumbent to actively participate in event set-up/management and therefore required to work outside regular office hours(Minimum)Education: University degree and/or equivalent combination of education & experience.Experience: Minimum five (5) years of relevant experienceExperience in writing and preparing draft documents and editing of documentsExperience working with and supporting various committeesExperience in producing successful awards nominations or comparable experience which demonstrates an understanding of context from a wide range of disciplines and an ability to identify and succinctly summarize findings for diverse audiencesExperience with database managementExperience in a medical academic setting and knowledge of Faculty of Medicine and/or hospital organizations would be an assetDemonstrated experience in event planning and coordination.Skills: Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet are requiredStrong database management skills are criticalKnowledge and experience in conducting and completing web based surveys (such as SurveyMonkey, Fluid survey but not limited to these surveys) and use of social media and other web-based technologiesProficiency in Photoshop or graphic editing software is an assetExperience with a web-based Content Management System (CMS) is an assetDemonstrated ability to synthesize complex information in the production of documentsOther: Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to show initiative, to meet external deadlines and manage competing prioritiesDemonstrated project management skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion; the ability to function independently with strong organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to be flexible and to work effectively in a team based environment; ability to recognize priorities and allocate resources to defined goals; the ability to interact with senior-level managers, faculty members, and executives comfortably and professionally with a customer-service orientation and maintaining confidentialityJob: Administration Organization: Education Deans Title: Education and Teaching Awards Coordinator (Pay Band 12)- TERM Location: StGeorge (downtown Toronto) Requisition ID: 1500098
