Consider bringing your professional expertise to the Provincial Schools Branch Currently the following exciting career opportunities are available at the Robarts School in London, which serves deaf students in a residential school setting: o Competition #PSB14-145 Teachers of the Deaf Elementary Program 2.0 permanent positions available immediately o Primary/Junior/Intermediate division qualifications required o Competition #PSB14-146 Teacher of the Deaf Elementary Program - 0.5 permanent position available immediately o Primary/Junior/Intermediate division qualifications required QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Certificate of Registration and Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers Specialist of the Deaf qualifications, or ability to obtain (minimum Deaf Part II). Appropriate subject(s) and division qualifications for the position ABILITIES: Ability to teach deaf/hard of hearing students in academic programs and programs for students with multiple exceptionalities Ability to develop/modify lesson plans, create IEP's to successfully teach deaf students; Ability to apply an in depth knowledge of the principles of teaching Deaf students; Ability to effectively manage a classroom and students using a variety of behavioural management techniques; Ability to write and present education materials and lesson plans using excellent interpersonal and communication skills including fluency in English and American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and to work with students with multi exceptionalities LOCATION: 1515 Cheapside Street, London, Ontario, N5V 3N9
