Learning Tree Tutors -- Tutoring Services invites applications for the following positions: Elementary Teacher/Tutor At Learning Tree Tutors we consider that effective tutors must have both excellent teaching and people skillsWe are looking for 1-on-1 tutors who are passionate about teaching and who can make learning interesting and fun for their studentsTutors usually travel to student homes for tutoringHours vary depending on how many students you wish to accept and what assignments are currently available at your location that will fit your scheduleLessons are usually 1.5 hours. Qualifications : Certified teachers OCT, ECE or teacher's college students Experience with at least one elementary level / Grades K to 8 Able to teach language and math skills French desirable Familiar with current Ontario curriculum guidelines Reliable transport /personal vehicle preferredPersonal Skills: - Open to new ideas and learning strategies - Good communication and interpersonal/rapport building skills - Patient, caring, dependable & flexible Job type: - Part-time, contract - Must be willing to tutor for a minimum of 2 sessions a week/ or 4 hours - Hours are late afternoon, evening & weekends- A criminal background check is required - Able to tutor throughout the school year- Compensation is $25 per hour.
